60,000 sf of Assisted Living and Memory Care in a renovated and repurposed midcentury bed tower. Located in a historic town in the Shenandoah Valley 90 minutes from the nation’s capital, Winchester has been ranked as one of the top 5 best retirement destinations in the country. We have reflected the historic character if the town in renovations to the façade as well as the interior. Extensive due diligence was done to the existing conditions of the building and its systems to coax from the old tower an inviting and warm environment.  One that kept within the historic theme of pre-Revolutionary War to Civil War era architecture in the surrounding this centrally located neighborhood.  As with all complex renovations the study and cross comparisons of system conditions and life cycle vs replacement was a careful balance to keep the project in budget while maintaining the ambiance of hospitality and community.
